Meet Chia — Suit Lab’s Fluffy Shopkeeper

Chia is our 6-year-old Chow Chow, resident cloud, part-time shop assistant, and full-time nap specialist. She may look like a teddy bear, a lion, and a cat all blended together—but rest assured, she is very much a dog… just one with strong boundaries and even stronger opinions.

About the Chow Chow (AKA Chia’s Royal Bloodline)

Chow Chows are one of the most ancient and distinctive dog breeds, known for their lion-like mane, deep-set eyes, and iconic blue-black tongue. Regal, independent, and beautifully stubborn, they carry themselves with a quiet dignity—sometimes mistaken for aloofness, but really, they’re just… selective.

They bond deeply with their family, enjoy affection on their terms, and have a wonderfully calm, cat-like presence. Behind their serious expression is a soft, silly soul: dramatic yawns, expressive huffs, surprise zoomies, and strategic naps placed throughout the day.

Chia is all of this—and then some.

A Day in the Life of Chia the Chow Chow

Chia begins each morning with a walk, breakfast, and then her favourite activity: pretending she can’t hear Alan calling her to get up for work. This is not disobedience—this is tradition.Once she eventually decides to clock in at Suit Lab, her first task is selecting the perfect nap location. With multiple designated snooze zones across the shop, she rotates like a seasoned professional:

  • Morning nap corner
  • Post-lunch snoring station
  • Front-of-house “I’m supervising” position

Chia greets customers…selectively. If she's awake, you might receive a small nod, a sniff, and then a gentle rejection as she walks away. If she’s asleep (which is her default state), you may mistake her for a plush toy until she snores.

Customers often whisper,“Is that real?”
Yes. She is. Very real. And very asleep.

Between naps, Chia supervises from behind the counter with the authority of a silent CEO. She watches suit fittings, monitors foot traffic, and judges the outside world with serene, fluffy wisdom. On days she “refuses to work” (approximately 6 days per week), she simply pretends the world does not exist.

Her internal lunchtime alarm is flawless. No matter how deep the sleep, Chia rises the moment snacks are involved. If lunch is late, she files an HR complaint by staring directly into Alan’s soul until corrective action is taken.

Near closing time, she mysteriously awakens—no matter where she’s sleeping—ready to clock out right on schedule.
